Episode 1: Tom Cooper - City In Focus Begins

In this inaugural episode, CIF president Tom Cooper is interviewed by friend and colleague Roy Salmond on how City In Focus came to be.

It's a varied trip from Texas to New York City, to California and Washington State with England between there somewhere, finally ending up in Vancouver with plenty of experience, insight and a vision for Caring for the Soul of the City.

Tom is rich and thoughtful with a light touch that anyone can understand and appreciate. Candid, forthright, and forthcoming, Tom challenges and inspires us to be the best version of ourselves in the service of others.

Since 1989, Tom has served as President of City in Focus, a chaplaincy that cares for the soul of the city through the dynamic business and political community of Vancouver.

A businessman for over 20 years, Tom was in three partnerships and started two companies before entering his pastoral vocation. He holds a Master’s and a Doctorate from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California, and was ordained by the Presbyterian Church in Canada.

Tom and his wife Karen live in their adopted city of Vancouver with their children and beloved grandchildren nearby.
